Hillsdale is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Southwest Portland. With all the winding roads, hilly terrain, terraced homes & convenient access to I5 & all of downtown Portland, this is a coveted neighborhood to live in. Capitol Hwy. is lined with cafe’s, restaurants and small businesses worth your time to check out. My favorites are: Baker & Spice & Salvadore Molly’s (fire breathing jaw breakers to top off fantastic south/central american food!).
Wonderfully designed newer homes are nestled in with those with more of a classic look. Primarily built in the 1940′s and 1950′s, there are few sidwalks in the actual neighborhoods. However Terwilliger does curve through the Markam Nature Park below “pill hill” (OHSU) and provides great bike riding or marathon training with steep inclines!
