Per it’s name, the neighborhood of Far Southwest is in the lower SW tip just before Lake Oswego begins in Mt. Park & Westlake. With I-5 running along it’s west side, Far SW is well situated for quick commutes with short-cuts via Barbur Blvd. or access straight into Portland via the highway.
Much of this neighborhood is actually the taken up not by high density homes, but by Portland Community College’s Sylvania campus. In addition, three parks–two good sized, take up additional space: Lesser Community Park at 8.5 acres, Sylvania City Park at 2.7 acres & Sylvania Natural Area Park.
