Giving Back

Mark and I have a special passion for children and teens on the fringes of our community. Displaced kids aged 18-21 often have very little access to safe housing. Married later in life, Mark and I knew we would not have our own children. In the past year Juan (18) and Rajabu (19) have come to live with us and we love having them as part of our family!
We work hard so we can engage more with our city and where we live. For every closing I have we rotate giving between three local non-profit organizations that support children and families: WITH LOVE gives area foster parents emergency clothing and furniture. NW CHILDRENbS OUTREACH provides clothing to children ages 0-18 city-wide. HUMAN SOLUTIONS is a family-centered shelter that keeps families together and in safe housing in Portland.
All my best,
Claire Widmark-Wright

With Love: With Love, is a not-for-profit, foster care resource providing for many of the physical needs that come with caring for children. Additionally, the goal is to promote an aura of dignity and honor to those who embrace local children in need of a family. It runs on volunteers and generosity. It is fueled by love.

imgresNW Children’s Outreach: is a faith-based, non-profit organization dedicated to helping families in the Portland area and surrounding communities. They help fill the needs of these families, providing clothing, infant care products, diapers, formula and many of the other necessities parents need for their children.

HS-banner-splash-400Human Solutions: The mission of Human Solutions is to help low-income and homeless families and individuals gain self-sufficiency by providing affordable housing, family support services, job readiness training and economic development opportunities.
